International Customs Day 2025
On 29 January 2025, Mr. Theeraj Athanavanich, Director-General of the Customs
Department, presided over the Certificate of Merit presentation ceremony from the World Customs
Organization (WCO) on the occasion of International Customs Day 2025. International Customs
Day is observed annually on 26 January. For 2025, the World Customs Organization (WCO)
designated the annual theme as “Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security
and Prosperity.” The theme aims to encourage member countries to demonstrate their commitment
to the practical implementation of WCO tools, as well as to promote trade facilitation, supply chain
security, and sustainable economic growth. In line with this theme, the Customs Department awarded
WCO Certificates of Merit to customs officers whose outstanding performance was consistent with
the said theme. The ceremony was held on the 2 floor of the Customs Club Building, Customs
