2. Project for the Development of the Customs Statistics Processing System and Integration
of Customs Data
The computer systems currently providing international trade statistics services and data
warehouse services have been installed and in operation since fiscal year 2015. As a result, the
technology used for data storage and management has become outdated and is no longer capable
of supporting the current workload. The data stored in the computer systems used for querying
import and export trade statistics covers the period from B.E. 2543 (2000) to the present. Each
year, the total number of import and export declarations ranges from approximately 8 to 8.5 million
declarations, comprising no fewer than 125 million individual commodity records. In order to ensure
the efficient provision of import and export trade statistics services, it is therefore deemed necessary
to improve the international trade statistics system and the data warehouse system so that the data
is complete and can be utilized for analysis to support decision-making and management, as well
as to efficiently provide import and export trade statistics to both internal and external users.
