2. Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement of NSW system to prepare
for future increase of information linkage/connectivity
Thailand’s National Single Window (NSW) or central linkage system for electronic
transaction data for goods imports, exports, and logistics, has been operating since 2005, with the
Customs Department being the leading agency in developing NSW in accordance with the cabinet’s
resolution. Thailand’s NSW features infrastructures, i.e. hardware, software and network, which
support information linkage between various domestic and international agencies, as well as import
and export operators, and has been supporting data connection with ASEAN Single Window (ASW)
system since late 2011. At the present, NSW facilitates information linkage between public and
private sectors of approximately 7 million e-document per month, offering paperless data
linkage between the Customs Department and business operators all over Thailand, as well as all
related government agencies, but yet to cover all types of goods which re uire license/ certifcate.
However, in order to realize the objectives of Thailand’s NSW, the Customs Department
has been continuously working with related agencies in developing and improving compatibility
and connectivity between each agency’s own systems and NSW.
