3. Project for Capacity Development on Rules of Origin for

Efficient Customs Procedures

The Customs Department has cooperated with

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the Project
for Capacity Development on ules of Origin for ffcient
Customs Procedures, with the objectives to enhance

knowledge and experience on rules of origin related
procedures and to study rules of origin fraud preventive

measures through international feld trips during a time
frame of 2 years and 8 month.

So far, the Customs Departments and JICA have
organized fve oint Coordinating Committee ( CC)

meetings. The 5th JCC meeting under Project for
Capacity Development on ules of Origin for ffcient
Customs Procedures was held on 7 June 2018 at

Passakornwong, Thai Customs Headquarter. The
Participants, consisting of Mr. Sorasak Meenatoree,
Deputy Director-General of Customs and representatives

from ICA Thailand Offce, the mbassy of apan, TICA,
Customs Tariff Bureau, and Ministry of Finance, Japan,

acknowledged the outcomes and evaluation of the
project, which had ended on 22 June 2018.
