Improve the efficiency and integrity of Customs control system

The Customs Department has developed a strategy to enhance Customs control through

risk management, particular by enhancing the effciency of ocal rofle system, a tool for risk
management and trade facilitation for reliable entrepreneur with low risk and for setting a strict
standard in inspecting goods with high risk. After testing the system in pilot agencies in FY 2018, the

Customs Department has planned to apply the implementation to other Customs offces and
Customs houses under Regional Customs Bureau 3 and Laem Chabang Port Customs Bureau and

has future plans to cover other Customs offces and houses.

2. Cooperation on Information Exchange in Customs Matters Project

The Customs Department has been implementing information exchange both domestically
and internationally to share information on investigation and suppression of Customs offences and

cases of IPR violation, smuggling of drugs and precursor chemicals, natural resources and
environmental destruction, money laundering suppression, international terrorism countering, as
well as the smuggling of dangerous goods which are threats to the society and national security.

Information exchange is one of the key mechanisms to enhance the performance of Customs
offcers in Customs suppression and control. Information exchanges have been implemented via

various channels e.g. E-mail, Line Application, CEN (Customs Enforcement Network) and CENcomm
(Customs Enforcement Network Communication.)
