Customs Control
Customs Control Techonology Division, or previously Customs Control Techonology Center
under Investigation and Suppression Bureau, is now under Customs Intelligence Center (CIC),
established under the Customs Department Order no. 18/2561 as of 17 Janurary 2018. The division’s
performances of Cusoms Control in FY2018 (1 Oct 2017 – 30 Sep 2018) are as follows:
1. Drafting Term of Reference (TOR) and specifications for Customs Control
Enhancement Project with containers and passengers’ baggage and
packages X-Ray inspection system in preparation for AEC joining.
The Cabinet Resolution as of 9 December 2014 approves the implementation and the
allotment of Development Policy Loan (DPL) for Customs Department’s project to enhance
customs control with containers and passengers’ baggage and packages X-Ray inspection system
in preparation for AEC joining. This is the 6th phase of Customs Department’s x-ray machine
procurement within 1,318 million bath budget. The project also features Integrity Pact and is
divided into two sub-projects:
Sub-Project 1: Procurement of 3 Drive through X-ray Container Inspection Systems, two to
be installed at Laem Chabang Port and one at the port of Kerry Siam Seaport Co Ltd, Sriracha,
Chonburi.
Sub-Project 2: Procurement of passengers’ baggage X-ray systems at major international
airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Muang Airport, Phuket Airport, Chiang Mai Airport and Samui
Airport
In FY2018, the Customs Department has issued order no. 476/2560 as of 25 October 2017
on the appointment of TOR committee for the procurement of containers and passengers’
baggage and packages X-Ray inspection system in preparation for AEC joining, with Director of
Customs Control Techonology Division as a committee member and secretary and other offcers
from Customs Control Technology Division as committee members.
The committee has completed drafting the TOR and proceeded with the procurement of
X-ray systems through e-bidding in December 2018.
