On 15 October 2021, Pol.Gen.Suwat Chaengyodsuk, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, together with Mr.Patchara Anuntasilpa, Director-General of the Customs Department and the Excise Department, inspected the “MITA 1” oil tanker at Samut Prakan Province. The results of the initial examination found that it was diesel fuel, amount of 1 million liters, worth than 100 million baht, it has a concentration of marker which such markers are used for refueling exports to foreign countries and exempt form excise tax, once exported it cannot be brought back into the kingdom. If imported without the customs formalities, it was considered smuggling fuel into the kingdom, which was an offense according to the Customs Act B.E.2560 (2017) and the Excise Act B.E.2560 (2017).
